Effective October 2, 2026. Version 2026-10-02-v1.
StormTamers is a community operated by VirtuAmerica LLC. These terms explain participation, paid services and your control over your work. For questions about these terms or help with your account, write to legal@virtuamerica.com.
Taking part at your own pace
StormTamers offers learning, reflection and community practice around TAME, personal storms, Giants and Compasses. You may listen, skip an exercise, decline advice or leave a session. You do not need to tell a personal story, accept a label or show progress to belong. Members must be at least 18 years old.
The community provides educational and peer support. It does not provide emergency response, medical or mental health treatment, legal representation or a promise of employment or other personal outcomes. Hosts and members are not available around the clock. If there is immediate danger, contact local emergency services or an appropriate crisis service where you are. Any separately offered professional service must state its own scope and provider qualifications.
English and Spanish are the initial service languages. Each scheduled service identifies its language, date, time zone and access arrangements. Availability depends on the actual offer and location; a website visit does not establish that every paid service is available in your country.
Your account and membership choices
Use contact details you control, keep your sign-in access secure and tell us if you suspect misuse. Do not impersonate someone, share another member’s account or evade a participation restriction. Admission and payment are separate: buying a service does not bypass the community’s eligibility or conduct requirements.
The library shows the resource catalog and identifies which items require paid access. A preview is not a license to the full resource. The tiers provide the following access when the relevant services are open:
| Tier | Included access |
|---|---|
| Free | Selected public information, resources and blank practice guidance. Personalized help and community discussions are not included. |
| Basic | The paid self-directed tools and resources identified in the offer, including saved TAME practice and ordinary Idea Vault work. Scheduled webinars are included. Personalized staff time is purchased separately. |
| Premium | Basic access, community discussions and one interactive group-session credit per monthly billing period. Additional sessions and individual mentoring require their own offers. |
A webinar is a watch-and-listen event when scheduled. It does not consume the Premium group-session credit. Free members may buy a ticket at the displayed price. No tier promises a fixed webinar schedule, unlimited staff time or unlimited group sessions.
Prices and recurring payments
Before payment, review the offer’s price, currency, applicable taxes or charges, billing frequency, included services and cancellation conditions. Those reviewed terms apply to that purchase. A later change to a website price or planning model does not rewrite a purchase you already accepted.
The order information must show the amount due, when recurring billing starts and how to stop it before you commit to payment. We require your affirmative agreement to recurring charges. Opening an account, viewing an offer or accepting the privacy notice does not authorize a subscription. We will provide a confirmation you can keep, including the accepted offer and cancellation instructions, and any legally required renewal reminders.
An offer described as a monthly subscription renews and charges monthly until canceled. A separate ticket or appointment is a one-time purchase unless its offer expressly says otherwise. We will disclose a proposed renewal-price or material service change before it takes effect, give you an opportunity to cancel before the affected charge, and obtain any agreement the applicable law requires.
Use the billing controls in Account to request cancellation and check its recorded status and paid-through date. Contact us if you cannot use those controls or a request remains unresolved. Cancellation ends future renewals; it does not itself request a refund or delete your account. Access already paid for continues through its stated period unless a safety or legal restriction applies. Payment problems can affect new paid access; your own retained work and recovery controls remain accessible as described below.
You may also send a clear cancellation request to legal@virtuamerica.com. Give the account email and enough purchase information to identify the subscription. You do not need to give a reason or buy another service. We will confirm the request and its effect on access and future billing. A processing delay does not authorize charges that should have stopped under a valid, timely cancellation. If such a charge occurs, contact us so we can correct it and return any amount not owed.
Group sessions and mentoring
Premium provides one credit per monthly billing period for one 60-minute interactive group session. Groups have up to ten participants. Before the first Premium checkout, you choose an available funded date. Review its time zone and language; a temporary seat hold becomes a booking only when confirmed. Later sessions also require a booking with available capacity.
At most one unused credit may carry into the next monthly period, and only after the next monthly renewal succeeds. It expires at the end of that next period if unused. Canceling without that successful renewal does not extend a credit beyond its existing expiry. Credits are not cash. Check Account for the expiry and booking status that apply to your credit.
A separately purchased mentoring appointment can include seven days of follow-up, measured from the scheduled end of the appointment as shown in your booking. After that window, retained history and withdrawal controls remain available, while new messages, progress submissions and contact arrangements require another eligible paid appointment. A request must be accepted; payment or an invitation does not establish that another person has agreed to help. No offer includes immediate replies or continuous availability unless it expressly says so.
Check the specific booking’s cancellation deadline, no-show conditions and remedy before confirming it. If we cancel or fail to deliver a paid service, we will explain the available replacement, credit or refund remedy. We will not make you accept a replacement in place of a refund required by law. A host contribution to a smaller group does not create an extra charge for you without your agreement.
Refunds and consumer rights
You can raise a billing or delivery problem through Account or our contact address. Include enough information to locate the purchase; do not email card details. A submitted request and a completed refund are different states. We will tell you the decision and, if approved, the refund status. Processing by the payment provider or your bank can take additional time.
Offer-specific cancellation terms do not remove mandatory consumer rights. Depending on where you live and the service purchased, those rights may include a withdrawal period, remedies for an undelivered or defective service, or a refund. We do not treat accepting these membership terms as a waiver of those rights or as separate consent to lose a withdrawal right when digital content or a service starts immediately.
A cooling-off period, where it applies
For qualifying online service contracts with consumers in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, the usual withdrawal period is 14 days after the contract is made. You may withdraw without giving a reason. Applicable law can extend that period, including when required information was missing. Tell us before the deadline using a clear statement; a particular form or legal phrase is not required.
If you expressly request a service to start during that period, a lawful, disclosed proportionate charge may apply for service already supplied. Losing the right after full performance requires the legally required agreement and acknowledgment. Digital downloads have different rules: accepting general membership terms alone does not waive their withdrawal right. We will explain any applicable exception and obtain the required separate choices before relying on it.
For a valid statutory withdrawal, we will return the amount due without undue delay and within the applicable deadline, normally 14 days after receiving your notice. We will use the original payment method unless you expressly agree otherwise, without a refund fee. A future-renewal cancellation alone does not tell us that you also want to exercise a cooling-off right; say so if that is your intention. Required consumer remedies still apply after the cooling-off period.
For example, you can email: “I want to withdraw from my StormTamers purchase. My name is …, my account email is …, and the service, purchase date and reference are ….” Send only the details needed to identify the contract. We will acknowledge receipt. This example is optional; we will also accept another clear statement.
Service problems and local protections
Where Australian Consumer Law applies, its consumer guarantees cannot be excluded. Services must meet the applicable standards of care, suitability and timing; the available remedy depends on the failure. A policy about changing your mind does not remove remedies for a service that fails those guarantees.
Other countries and states may provide additional cancellation, refund or complaint rights. Those mandatory protections prevail over a conflicting offer condition. Contact us if a service was not delivered as described; you do not have to describe your personal storm to explain a billing problem.
Treating people with care
Speak from your own experience, ask before giving personal advice and respect a person’s decision to decline contact. Do not harass, threaten, discriminate against, exploit, impersonate or pressure people. Do not use the community for unsolicited sales, deceptive claims, illegal material or attempts to bypass access controls. Disagree with ideas without diagnosing or labeling another member.
Only post or upload material you have permission to use. Avoid unnecessary identifying details about other people. Do not copy, publish, record or redistribute another person’s story, private messages or contact details without permission. Group participants must respect these rules on their own devices too; we cannot guarantee that a recipient will never make an unauthorized copy.
Support circles prohibit recording, transcription and AI use. Other events may offer a separately explained recorded segment with an alternative for people who do not agree. Membership, a ticket or attendance is not blanket consent to recording or marketing. Follow the host’s admission and participation instructions.
Your writing and ideas
You keep the rights you hold in your contributions. You give VirtuAmerica LLC permission to store, process and show them only as needed to provide the service and the sharing or other uses you choose, subject to the privacy notice and necessary legal retention. Membership does not grant us ownership of your ideas or unrestricted rights to publish your story, sell it or use it in advertising.
Private drafts do not appear in the community feed. Submitting an Idea Vault version creates a separate retained record. Sharing identifies the version, recipient and applicable expiry; it does not expose later private revisions or private progress notes. You can withdraw eligible sharing. Withdrawal stops further access through the service but cannot retrieve copies someone already received. Deleting a draft does not delete a submitted version. A stored receipt documents the service’s record; it does not establish patent protection, exclusive ownership, external notarization or secrecy against every recipient.
Resource authors keep their rights. Paid access permits the use described with the resource; it does not permit republication, resale or sharing paid access with others unless the resource license expressly allows that use. Separate permission is required for testimonials, public Atlas publication, marketing or other reuse beyond the service you requested.
Optional features and independent providers
Review the relevant conditions before using a program, contest, paid directory listing, recording or AI feature. Joining StormTamers does not enroll you in every optional activity. AI output can be wrong; review it before acting, and do not use it as a substitute for qualified advice. Reports and participation decisions remain subject to human review.
Directory listings are paid advertisements for independent providers. Approval to display a listing does not certify qualifications or endorse the provider. Third-party websites and services have their own terms and privacy practices. We remain responsible for our own service obligations.
Concerns and participation restrictions
Use the reporting tools or contact us to raise a concern. Share the specific evidence needed for review. A report is an allegation to assess, not an automatic finding, and does not give a reviewer unrestricted access to a private conversation. We may limit access, remove material or suspend participation to address a substantiated rule violation, protect people, investigate a credible risk or meet a legal obligation.
We will explain a restriction and available review or appeal route when we can do so without compromising safety, another person’s privacy or a legal restriction. Eligible appeals require an appropriate reviewer; the small initial team cannot promise immediate or independent review in every case. Contact us if the concern involves the host. A restriction does not extinguish a valid refund claim or other mandatory right.
Stepping away and closing your account
You can cancel a subscription, withdraw sharing or request account closure separately. Account provides access to your own retained work, eligible export and removal requests, and billing recovery after paid access ends. It does not give you continuing paid participation or another person’s private material. Necessary safety, identity verification and legal restrictions still apply; contact us if they prevent an appropriate request.
Download any export you want to keep before closure. Closure stops participation and sharing and starts the remaining removal and recurring-payment work. Check the request status: submitting closure does not prove that every payment has been canceled, a refund completed or all copies removed. The privacy notice explains retention and provider-copy limits. Closing StormTamers membership does not close accounts you hold with independent providers or other websites.
Changes and resolving questions
We will identify the version and effective date of published terms and notify members of material changes before they apply. Where fresh agreement is required, we will request it. Updated wording does not retrospectively change an accepted purchase or create consent to a new use of your information.
Start with legal@virtuamerica.com so we can try to resolve a question or complaint. These terms do not require arbitration, waive access to a regulator or court, or exclude rights and remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded. Read the privacy notice alongside these terms in the privacy notice.
